For those who didn't attend at last Saturday's Christmas dinner and toy collection, Columbus Base Nominating/Election Committee Chairman Bill Anderson reported that there were (as I recall) 58 ballots returned. Results were:

Joe Testa was elected as Columbus Base Commander for the 2 year term 2008-2009.

Jim Tolson was elected as Columbus Base Vice-Commander for the 2 year term 2008-2009.

Jim Koogler was elected as Columbus Base Treasurer for the 2 year term 2008-2009.

There were several write-in votes for Columbus Base Secretary, but to my knowledge none of those write-ins have accepted the office. Look for more information on filling this office in the future.

The proposal to amend the Columbus Base Bylaws to offer Columbus Base Life Memberships.... PASSED. Therefore, effective January 1, 2008... the fees, dues, and structure for Columbus Base Life Membership will be:

Columbus Base Life Membership will be available to USSVI National Life Members only, including USSVI National Associate Life Members.
Columbus Base Life Membership cards will be issued.
Columbus Base Lifetime Membership dues shall be based on the member's age as of the first day of the year in which life membership is purchased:

Holland Club members will not automatically receive Columbus Base Life Membership.

So, to all of our USSVI LIFE members who are interested in purchasing Columbus Base life membership... I will accept Columbus Base life membership dues IMMEDIATELY... with life membership to be effective January 1, 2008. For any USSVI national life members who have already paid 2008 base dues but want to convert that to life membership, just send me the difference along with a note telling me of your request. If you aren't sure, contact me.

DUES
There are 20 USSVI national "annual paying" members who have not yet paid their 2008 National dues... and, coincidently, their 2008 Columbus Base dues. As a reminder... national doesn't recognize a "grace" period. If you haven't paid by January 1, 2008, you're dink and "technically" no longer a member of USSVI. So PLEASE... if you're one of the 20 AND if you want to remain a member of USSVI, PLEASE send me your check for $30.00 payable to Columbus Base USSVI. $20.00 will be sent to national for 2008 USSVI national dues, and $10.00 will be retained for Columbus Base 2008 dues.

There are also 20 USSVI life members who have not paid 2008 base dues, and are either not eligible for free base life membership or have not paid for base life membership.

I will follow up this email with another addressed to each individual just so you know what you owe.
