For the good of the Order:
Parade Sub discussion:
use as a static display – Galin brought up that the float is a valuable recruiting tool for the base when used as a static display at events like the World War II event which had over 7,000 attendees.
static display board(s) – It was suggested that a board be created explaining the sub float and what it represents.
repair/replacement of flags & flag poles – The hundred-year banner needs to be replaced and also one of the poles.
repair by Freightliner - Around the 15th of November Freightliner will do the repairs after all the parades.
remaining 2017 parades – Bill Anderson and Galin Brady will coordinate pulling the sub float
Winter storage – Float will be stored at the same location it was last year.
2018 USSVI Convention cruise – Oct 21-28, 2018 www.ussvicruise.com/ - The web site listed has all the information. You will need a passport if you plan to attend. USSVI will probably move the web site listed to a link on the USSVI site in the future.
Christmas dinner – cater or pot luck? – Karla asked those in attendance if they would prefer to have the Christmas dinner catered or have a pot luck. Those in attendance voted to have it catered.
