USS Columbus Meet & Greet
Mark you calendars, Commander Doody, the COB and a JO will be coming to town this week, and we will have an opportunity to meet them Friday night. We will meet at the AMVETS Post 89, where we have our monthly meetings, at 1800. The AMVETS are having meatball subs and pizza night sponsored by the Sons of AMVETS at the same time if you are so inclined, or simply stop by and have a drink and learn about OUR submarine.

Two reasons to come out are first of all, the Columbus just returned from a 6 month deployment, and I’m sure Commander Doody will tell us about how well the crew performed, the COB will give us a low down on all the places they stopped, and the JO about how things are different than he expected. Another reason to stop by is to pay your respects to Commander Doody, for his service to our country and the submarine service, and his support of the Columbus Base. This will probably be Commander Doody’s last trip to Columbus to visit with us, as a new skipper will probably be taking the helm before next fall. Commander Doody is one of the best, so come on out and let him know how much we appreciate everything he has done for our country, and this base.
