At the 2006 National USSVI Convention Columbus Base received the following three awards:

The Golden Anchor Award is presented to the Base or District which has lead the way in promoting creative membership renewals or has developed successful recruitment tools or ideas. |

This Award is presented to the Shipmate, Base, or group within our organization who most exemplifies the motto, “Pride Runs Deep,” who by his (their) efforts and involvement in local veterans affairs, parades, school activities etc. have promoted the concept of Honor, Duty, and Pride of US Navy Submarine Force to the general public. |

Recommendations for these two awards are submitted by Base Commanders to District Commanders. Honorees Selected by: District Commanders

For the Publishing Year May 1, 2005 through 30 April, 2006 The Newsletter of the Year Award will be presented to the Base that, in the opinion of the Newsletter of the Year Panel of judges, published the most outstanding Newsletter in its Class (based on the size of the Base’s Membership) as follows: Class I Small Bases 5 - 40 members Class II Intermediate Bases 41- 80 members Class III Large Bases 81 members and over |
