The festivities will begin on Thursday May 1st. Early arrivers can be the first to join the Manitowoc Maritime History Bus Tour. Led by USS JALLAO crew member Jerry Pilger, this bus tour will visit some historic maritime sites in Manitowoc featuring the World War II era sites of Custerdale and the location of the former Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company. (Two more bus trips will be offered on Friday.) Later Thursday evening, diesel boat vets can travel back in time by spending the night aboard USS COBIA. Friday will be a day of reminiscing and sharing. Local high school students will be here Friday morning to capture memories for a documentary project and in the afternoon you can share your stories during roundtable discussions.
