
Sharon told me that an infection developed at the amputation site and the doctors weren't able to get control over it. The infection eventually worked it's way to Frank's heart, causing his death.
As is our custom, Columbus Base will donate $100.00 to the USSVI Charitable Foundation in Frank's name.

Frank D. Lloyd, age 75, died Saturday Feb. 27, 2021 in OhioHealth Grant Medical center. He was born June 23, 1945 to the late Harry Lloyd, Jr. and Dorothy (Wells) Fagg.
A graduate of Linden McKinley High School in 1963, Frank entered the U.S. Navy for 6 years and spent 3 years on Submarine Duty. He had been employed as a Service Technician with GFS Food Systems.
Frank had a great sense of humor and was always telling jokes. He enjoyed shooting guns. He had a great mechanical mind and was always working on things, better known as "Tinkering".
Frank is survived by his wife Sharon (Griffith) Lloyd who he married on January 14, 1966 in Seekonk, Mass.; children Steven Lloyd of Marengo and Neely (Mike) Grosh of Marion; grandchildren Toni (Montel Smith) Staats, Tristan Staats, and Samantha Lloyd; great-grandchildren, Jayce and Jameson; brother, Harry Lloyd III, of Conway, S.C.
Friends may call on Sunday March 7, 2021 from 1:00 until the start of the funeral service at 2:00PM at the Gompf Funeral Home, 440 Center Street in Cardington. Pastor Aaron Jaffee of the Edison Bible Church will officiate at the funeral. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and Jenkins-Vaughn American Legion Post #97.
Due to the Governor's mandate, face masks are required to enter the Funeral Home.
